  • yummy for my tummy

last week I was really craving some Taiwanese snacks, so this weekend I set out to stew/roast some beef shank.  Then yesterday, we stopped by Champion, the local chinese/taiwanese deli place that serves taiwanese breakfast on weekends.  We bought a you tieu (fried donut) and a couple shao bing (sesame bread), and went home to finish my creation.  Ok, yeah I know... since we were already at the deli place, why didn't we just buy the premade rice-rolls (fan tuan) and steamed bread or sesame bread filled with beef?  but I guess my mom's frugalness has rubbed off on me and i didn't feel like spending $2.50 - $3.00 per item when i could just make it myself and make a lot, too.  Soo a couple hours and 4 rice-rolls, 10 steamed breads, 2 shao-bings later, i'm one happy camper!   and well, even though I'm preggo and a piggo we still won't eat THAT many, so i shared with Tim's parents. And if you're around and want some before they're all gone, just stop by and visit ! =)

  • hi

Tim thinks I should post a new xanga entry.  He says maybe about how I can't enter our apartment unless he's home. haha.  i guess it is kind of amusing, but I work during the day anyway, so I just have to make sure he gets home before I do.

In the past, I've posted entries about when I've done silly or stupid things, like losing stuff, setting fires, forgetting things, etc..classic me.  I went back to look at some of these entries, and I am amazed at how i still haven't learned from previous experiences.

Since we've been married, I lost two compact bibles that hopefully someone picked up and read, one pair of sunglasses, both apartment and car keys, and two cell phones (one was found).

So we can't duplicate our apartment keys, and we heard through unofficial channels that our housing association is soon to be replacing locks on all the apartments.  We are being cheap and waiting for that to happen so we don't have to pay the $75 key replacement fee.  I hope it happens soon, because we've been operating with one set of keys since November 17th.......wow.  it's been nearly 3 months.

And the cell phone thing. I can't believe I lost two cell phones in a week.  Thankfully, the 2nd one was recovered relatively quickly.  Basically, I lost my cell phone at work, and after almost a week of no cell phone, tim decided to ask around for a spare one for me.  The next day, I took my replacement phone and put it in my bag, but I guess it fell out into the parking lot and was picked up by someone else, who eventually called us and told us he found the phone.

anyway, i missed you, xanga. that was fun.  see you later

  • why i am kind of OC about tidyness

I used to think it was partly because my dad collects junk.

Well, that's still true, but I just found out it's an actual disorder - Compulsive Hoarding!

I read about it on the March edition of Readers Digest.

There's also a website with lots of information : www.childrenofhoarders.com.

I am so intrigued, because i didn't think there were other hoarders out there.  The stories of the hoarders on the website are even more extreme than my family, too!
